Please help me identify the Size Halyard to use on my P-31.
Seems that the rigging I had done last year was done poorly and I now have a headsail halyard that keeps getting stuck as the size is too thick for the top of mast shoe where it rides. Need to replace halyard and looking for advise .
THANKS

I just bought a 31-2 and immediately replacing rope to wire halyards to all rope. A rigger measured and recommended 108' length and will use 3/8 line. The shivs look to me like 3/8 is right.

Same problem with my main halyard! The rigger replaced the wire/rope with all rope and now it's a bear to raise the main. Takes the fun right out of it! By the time it's to the top of the mast, I'm ground out. Have you actually seen the shivs and do they appear to have a channel for wire?

3/8 is the size i used for replacemnet halyards, and 3/8 fits the shivs. the shivs on my 31-II were not grooved to accept wire.
