Can any one tell me the size cord to purchase for replacing the stuffing box on am 1987 P31-2

I just replaced mine this spring. I used Flax Packing/Teflon from Boat US. The size was 3/16 x 24. I can forward my complete list of parts that I have identified so far if you wish. email me at Billosail@aol.com and be sure to put P31 in the title or it might get zapped.

I just replaced the packing in my 1989 p-31. It took the 1/4" I use GFO fiber packing. Great stuff, no drips. Razz

Another option is the dripless shaft seal (http://www.shaftseal.com/). I had one installed on hull 264 about a year ago and it has been dry and maintenance free.
