Being new to winterizing (previously a San Diego sailor), does anyone use an engine heater or cabin space heater as part of their winterization layup? What make and type would you recommend? Thanks! |

Dave: Have kept my 31 in Tilghman Island MD. for more winters than I care to remember. Cover the boat with a heavy tarp, draped from the boom, each year and leave the center hatch open and one companion way slide out for ventilation. Never a problem and don't feel there is a need for a heater with the subsequent worry about a fire hazard. This is of course after winterizing the engine and fresh water system.

Jack, Thanks for the reassurance on not needing a heater, can put the $300 towards Xmas presents! See you 'round the bay. Dave |
